The Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printer offers revolutionary FDM 3D printing with numerous innovative features. Its robust components, including carbon rails for the X and Y axes, hardened steel gears, a metal extruder that reaches temperatures up to 300°C, and a built-in activated carbon filtration system, enable printing with even the most demanding materials, such as those reinforced with glass or carbon fibers. Thanks to the force sensor, the printer can adjust for bed leveling and ensure precise Z-height and material flow calibration with the help of Bambu Lidar. It is also equipped with a camera that detects errors during printing.

The 3D printer Bambu Lab X1 Carbon utilizes Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology and offers a build volume of 256 × 256 × 256 mm. The chassis is constructed of durable steel, complemented by an aluminum and glass shell, providing both structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
The tool head is equipped with an all-metal hot end and hardened steel extruder gears, making it well-suited for high-temperature applications. The nozzle, also made of hardened steel, withstands temperatures up to 300°C, accommodating a variety of filament types and allowing nozzle diameters of 0.4 mm (included) with optional sizes of 0.2 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm. It supports 1.75 mm filament diameter and is equipped with a filament cutter for convenient operation.
This printer supports multiple build plates, including the Bambu Cool Plate, High Temperature Plate, Textured PEI Plate, and Smooth PEI Plate. The heatbed can reach a maximum temperature of 110°C at 220V or 120°C at 110V, enhancing compatibility with various materials.
Engineered for speed, the tool head reaches up to 500 mm/s with a maximum acceleration of 20 m/s². It can deliver a hot end flow of up to 32 mm³/s when using ABS at 280°C. The closed-loop control cooling system manages fans for part cooling, hot end cooling, control board, chamber temperature, and an auxiliary part cooling fan, ensuring consistent temperature management and print quality.
The air filtration system includes an activated carbon filter to reduce emissions. Supported filaments include PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PET, PA, and PC, with reinforced carbon/glass fiber polymers as an ideal choice for this system.
Advanced sensors enhance reliability, including a Bambu Micro Lidar sensor, high-resolution chamber monitoring camera, door sensor, filament run-out sensor, and optional filament odometry with the AMS. The printer also includes power loss recovery for uninterrupted print jobs.
The printer’s physical footprint measures 389 × 389 × 457 mm and weighs 14.13 kg. It operates on a voltage range of 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, with a maximum power draw of 1000 W at 220 V or 350 W at 110 V.
User interaction is facilitated by a 5-inch, 1280 × 720 touch screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Bambu-Bus. Storage options include 4 GB of EMMC and a Micro SD card reader. The control interface includes a touch screen, app, and PC application, managed by a dual-core Cortex M4 motion controller, a quad ARM A7 application processor, and a neural network processing unit with 2 Tops processing power.
The software suite includes Bambu Studio as the primary slicer, with support for third-party slicers like Superslicer, Prusaslicer, and Cura (standard G-code only), compatible with MacOS and Windows operating systems.
