Bambu PLA Wood is a versatile and high-quality 3D printing filament, combining premium PLA with fine wood powder to create realistic wood-like prints. Its natural appearance, combined with excellent printability, makes it ideal for projects that require a genuine wood aesthetic.
Specifications
The filament has a diameter of 1.75 mm and comes with a net weight of 1 kg. The spool is made of ABS with a temperature resistance of 70°C. The spool dimensions are 200 mm in diameter and 67 mm in height.
Recommended Printing Settings
For optimal results, pre-drying the filament is advised. Use a blast drying oven at 55°C for 8 hours or a heatbed at 65 - 75°C for 12 hours on X1 Series printers. Maintain a printing and storage humidity of less than 20% RH, preferably sealed with desiccants.
Use nozzles sized 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, or 0.8 mm, with temperatures between 190 - 230°C. Recommended bed types include Cool Plate, High-Temperature Plate, or Textured PEI Plate, prepared with glue and set at 35 - 45°C. Activate the cooling fan, set printing speed below 300 mm/s, and adjust retraction length between 0.6 - 1.0 mm at 20 - 40 mm/s speed. Keep the chamber temperature between 25 - 45°C. The maximum overhang angle is 55°, and the maximum bridging length is 30 mm.
Physical Properties
Bambu PLA Wood has a density of 1.31 g/cm³ and a melt index of 39.4 ± 3.2 g/min at 210°C. Its melting temperature is 163°C, with a glass transition temperature of 61°C. The Vicat softening temperature is 63°C, while the heat deflection temperatures are 52°C at 1.8 MPa and 58°C at 0.45 MPa. Its water absorption rate at 25°C and 55% RH is 0.40%.
Mechanical Properties
The filament demonstrates strong mechanical performance with a Young's Modulus of 1960 ± 180 MPa (X-Y) and 1670 ± 140 MPa (Z). It offers tensile strengths of 30 ± 5 MPa (X-Y) and 22 ± 4 MPa (Z). Its breaking elongation rates are 14.8 ± 4.2% (X-Y) and 4.8 ± 1.7% (Z). Bending strengths are 53 ± 6 MPa (X-Y) and 29 ± 5 MPa (Z), while impact strength reaches up to 19.2 ± 3.7 kJ/m² (X-Y) and 6.6 ± 1.1 kJ/m² (Z).
Other Properties
Bambu PLA Wood is odorless, chemically stable under normal conditions, and resistant to most oils and greases. However, it is not resistant to acids, alkalis, or organic solvents. It is flammable, producing water and carbon oxides upon combustion without noticeable odor.
Specimen Test Printing Conditions
Test prints were successfully completed at a nozzle temperature of 220°C, a bed temperature of 35°C, and a printing speed of 200 mm/s with 100% infill density.
Bambu PLA Wood is the perfect choice for creating models with authentic wood-like textures, ensuring stunning, nature-inspired 3D prints.
